Andie’s “Ohio” Homestyle Chicken and Noodles Dish – Thick and Creamy!

I am salivating just thinking about making this dish! Andie’s Homestyle Chicken and Noodles! I call it “Ohio” style because I have found that others think it is like soup and this is definitely not a soup!

I make this so often, my family says NOT AGAIN but I can’t help myself, it is one of my all time favorite things to make and to eat!

You can make this with cooked chicken breast but I have tried it every way possible and this is the easiest and best way I have found. Enjoy!

What you need:

3 large cans all white meat chicken ( I use Tyson brand) can shred or chunk it, your choice

3 cans cream of chicken soup-any brand

3 cans chicken broth-I use reduced sodium

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 full stick of butter (optional but why not?) so good…

1 24 ounce bag of frozen Reams Noodles (this is a must use brand for ultimate taste)

This is a snap:

Put everything in a large pot and combine, add the stick of butter to the top at the end.

Bring to a slow boil then drop immediately to a low simmer ( I have an electric stove and mine stays at a 2-3) Stir frequently

Low simmer for about 45 minutes then drop to low and let sit until you get your desired thickness, approximately 20 minutes or so longer

We like ours super creamy and thick and serve it over mashed taters and biscuits but this is just as good as a stand alone.
